Across two pilot sessions in Spring 2026, the Culinary Nutrition STEAM Lab demonstrated that when nutrition science is delivered through spatial computing and heritage-rooted recipes, students engage deeply and quickly.
Students from Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Hispanic backgrounds connect their cultural identity directly to wellness — the curriculum meets students where their palates and heritage already are.
Even students with no prior exposure to spatial computing showed strong engagement — the technology is accessible, not exclusive.
The overwhelming majority of pilot students said they'd attend a dedicated program focused on high-tech cooking, spatial computing, and wellness.
The pilot reached precisely the population most affected by diet-related chronic disease — giving this program real, transformational value.

Written and developed by founder Isaac Floyd, M.S., the Scratch Nutrition curriculum pairs nutrition science with hands-on cooking — each unit anchored in Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Hispanic food traditions, and mapped to the Nutrition Self-Efficacy (NSE) framework.
